The situation
Loan files passed between desks for days; field officers recorded collections in notebooks.
What we built
A microfinance institution replaced paper loan files and notebook collections with a lending platform, a customer app and an offline field app. It was delivered in phases, each one in use before the next began: loan origination, credit rules and scoring, field collections app and portfolio and risk reporting.
How it connects
It works with the tools the organisation already relies on: Core banking, Mobile money, Identity checks and SMS reminders. Staff were trained in their own language, and every action in the system is recorded with who did it and when.
Where it stands
Applications scored and routed by rule, approved on a phone, and repayments recorded offline in the field.
